The Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) is expected to conduct the Civil Services Recruitment Exam in 2023 for various administrative positions in the state government. The exam is highly competitive, and candidates need to prepare well to crack it. In this blog, we will discuss everything you need to know about the HPSC Civil Services Recruitment 2023.
Eligibility Criteria:
To apply for the HPSC Civil Services Recruitment 2023, a candidate must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Age Limit: The minimum age to apply for the exam is 21 years, and the maximum age is 42 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per the government norms.
- Educational Qualification: The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Candidates who are in their final year of graduation can also apply.
- Language Proficiency: The candidate must have proficiency in Hindi and should have studied Hindi up to the Matriculation level.
- Physical Standards: The candidate must meet the physical standards set by the commission.
Selection Process:
The HPSC Civil Services Recruitment 2023 will consist of three stages:
- Preliminary Examination: The preliminary examination will be an objective type test and will consist of two papers. Paper-I will cover general studies, and Paper-II will be a CSAT paper. The total duration of the exam will be two hours for each paper.
- Mains Examination: The mains examination will consist of written tests and an interview. The written test will be subjective and will cover topics such as language, essay, general studies, and two optional subjects. The interview will be of 75 marks.
- Personality Test: The personality test will be conducted for the candidates who qualify in the mains examination. The test will assess the candidate’s mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, the balance of judgment, variety, and depth of interest, ability for social cohesion, and leadership.

Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision making and problem-solving General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. – Class X level)
